About RealAnalogFilm

Because we love film,
but hate scanning.

RealAnalogFilm is a small studio by passionate photographers. We build Lightroom presets and Ricoh GR recipes that bring real analog film aesthetics into digital photography — without the developing tank.

Our story

From rising film prices
to RealAnalogFilm.

We are a small group of photographers who love to shoot on film. The image look of analog photography is, simply put, great. But film prices keep rising — and the workflow of developing and scanning every roll is expensive and slow.

Out of that frustration, RealAnalogFilm was born. Our passion for analog photography, combined with the technical knowledge to reverse-engineer it, led us to build Lightroom presets and camera recipes that make digital images look exactly like the film we love.

And honestly? We just hate scanning.

Analog feeling, taken further

The tape on the LCD. The 1 GB card. The optical finder.

We use digital cameras the way we used film cameras

Our Fujifilm X100V and Leica M10 are taped over the LCD. We shoot with a 1 GB card that holds about 36 frames. We use the optical viewfinder, not the screen on the back. We don’t chimp.

It’s not nostalgia for its own sake. It’s a working method. When you can’t check the image immediately, you commit to the moment. When the card holds 36 frames, you choose every shot. When you use a real viewfinder, you compose with your eye, not with a screen.

That’s the spirit we build presets for

Our products aren’t designed for people who want a fast filter. They’re built for photographers who care about how film actually behaves — the tonal response, the grain structure, the way Tri-X handles shadow, the way Portra handles skin.

If you shoot deliberately, our presets give you the look without the chemistry. If you shoot a Ricoh GR, our recipes give you the look without ever opening Lightroom.

What we make

Two products. Both made the same way.

One for Lightroom users who want the iconic Kodak Tri-X 400 look on desktop. One for Ricoh GR shooters who want analog film aesthetics straight out of camera. Both built from real film, not invented from scratch.
